Old5’s rigs out and about

Well Old5 felt sorry for me moping about while waiting on pistons, so we drug out his flatty from storage, built new plug wires for it, built a upper rad hose, cleaned up Air intake and a few other odds and ends then decided to try it in the snow. With the 31x15.50 terra tires Hopes were high since it does so well in the swampy going being light, but they in fact are terrible at least in the sugary snow. But it was a great day. Both of his jeeps ran well all day. We had fun, lots of fun. Much needed for me, and i very much appreciate my minivan and can’t wait to get back in it. Plans for the flatty his kids named animal, is to put my overdrive in that didn’t fit j53’s Mitsubishi , and flip the front tires.
i can break anything, lend me your keys and i will prove it!

Just that kind of snow eh haha. Those tires on the flatty are fat lookin. If the snow had a bit more consistency it would prob just float on top

Ya it would float on the sugary snow fairly well just not propel it. When the snow sets up it very well could be a different story. Some traction devices or something would help. But steering is already a nightmare. The tires are 31x15.50 on realky wide rims. 10+ inches.

Looks like if it even had a couple clutch pack limited slips that it would dominate...  But hard to say if even that would be too much to steer it. rofl

Everyone wants to see more of the flatty. Not sure I’m man enough for many more trips, but I think when the snow sets up it’ll make a video return. Currently looking at swapping tcase from my old
Cj-6 into it as the primary gear that the overdrive goes on is the wrong one to bolt right on. But I’ve got my whole spicer 18 stripper down so it should be achievable.
